So yesterday went ok.  Since I just got back from driving home to Utah, I needed that day to unwind.

Part of the HerbaLife program is to measure yourself at about 150,000 different places on your body.  Just kidding.  There were about 9.
The measuring tape that came with my starter kit goes up to 120 inches.  Really?  Someone might really need for it to be THAT long?  Well, maybe.  But certainly someone with that much girth will hopefully be seeing a medical professional, too.

I got up this morning and weighed myself.  It's about 1/2 pound less than yesterday.  I was hoping for at least a full pound, but maybe tomorrow, right?  Whenever I start a diet, I almost ALWAYS loose a full pound the first day, and at least 3 pounds in the first week.  Then it levels out after that and then for the next couple of weeks I might see nothing lost or about a pound a week of weight loss, but then long about week 3 or 4 it picks up again and I can count on about 2 pounds a week... IF I'm faithful.  We'll see if this holds true this time around.  My scale also measures fat and water, but it seems to be inconsistent so I'm not going to worry about that for now.

I did ok on the NO DIET COLA issue yesterday.  I missed it though.  I prayed silently and opening for strength.  Becca sent me some inspiring thoughts and scriptures that I can use for support.  Today, Jenelle sent me an article about health and it's direct relationships with so many other aspects of our health as a whole (spiritual, mental, emotional, as well as the obvious - physical).  I'm so glad I have a good support system.  People who believe in me and are not condemning, only loving and supportive.

(The scriptures and thoughts Becca sent to me are:
Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (even no diet soda!!!)

There is, however, a level of faith that not only governs our behavior but also empowers us to change what is and to make things happen that otherwise would not happen. I am speaking of faith not only as a principle of action but also as a principle of power. Paul stated that this was the faith by which prophets “subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens, [and] women received their dead raised to life again” (Hebrews 11:33–35). These are grand things—but in a way no greater than conquering a powerful addiction..." D. Todd Christofferson ("bulding faith in Christ" 6/11).
You are doing great, Mom! I know you can do it. You are so powerful!!!!

"There is no burden that He cannot ease or remove. He knows about our infirmities and sicknesses. I promise and testify to you that when all doors seem to be closed, when everything else seems to fail, He will not fail you. Christ will help and is the way out, whether the struggle is with an addiction, depression, or something else. He knows “how to succor his people.” (Elder Walter F. Gonzalez, "learning with our hearts" 10/12).

Alma 7:12: "And he will take upon him adeath, that he may bloose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to csuccorhis people according to their infirmities."

We love you so much! You can do it. We'll pray for you. And, I have realized, Micah's prayers get answered. !!!  Love Becca

The article Jenelle sent to me is:
Keeping Physically Fit
BY CLARENCE F. ROBISON
I tried to copy and paste here but it's in a PDF with lots of underlining and highlighting and copied really weird, fragmented and incomplete.  I'm sure if you want to read it you could go to LDS.org and search for it by the title and author I just referenced.

My Smartphone has a widget that I installed providing a "scripture of the day".  I see it at any time I go to use my phone.  Today's scripture is aptly posted - it's from Luke.  "For with God nothing shall be impossible".  Perfect.  Of course.

Had the Herbalife vanilla shake mix with frozen blueberries.  Added too many blueberries.  It's super thick but really yummy!  I'll only add about 1/2 cup next time.
