BOWEN, BUFFALO SCHMUFALLO, SUBWAY BLUNDERS, VISITORS!, ASPHALT, CIGARETTE SMOKE

I was thinking that I should only post something on this blog at night, after the day is done, and I can make a full report for up to the last minute thoughts from the day.  The problem is that a lot of the time I just have so much fatigue that I’m not feeling up to typing.  So here it is about noon, and I’m thinking my arm and hand will give out soon - but hopefully it won’t get too worse and I’ll be able to do a few more things.

BOWEN THERAPY
Last Monday, I had my second Bowen treatment.  It didn’t adversely affect me nearly as much as the week before, though I was definitely not feeling great for the next couple of days.  On late Wednesday afternoon, I had another (3rd) sacral-cranial therapy treatment.  I expected to feel fantastic on Thursday, but it was quite the opposite.  I was feeling pretty fatigued, weak and had more episodes of “weak arm” than usual.  This continued through yesterday.  I DID make it to church on Sunday, but was down for the count for the rest of the day.

BUFFALO SCHMUFFALO
Jenna came over on Sunday and helped with dinner.  But the real reason she came over was because she lost her job at Buffalo Exchange and wanted to have someone to cry with.  Joe Whipple came over to surprise her and to help console.  She helped make dinner while they were visiting.  I still can't believe they didn't just give her a leave of absence but they said that since she couldn't guarantee that she'd be feeling 100% any time soon that they have the right to terminate for that cause - even though it seems so unfair.  I guess it's because she's part time and hadn't been working there for at least 6 months - UGH.  I hope she finds something else pretty soon.  Rent was due yesterday.

Back to my therapies....I think I can fairly say that that CS therapy is not for me.  I also was thinking that perhaps the combination of the two was just too much or too soon.
After I relayed this to the Bowen therapist yesterday, he concurs with me.  Only one type of therapy at a time and certainly not that close together.  His opinion was that the CS made the Bowen come to a screeching halt.  I hope I haven’t backslid, delayed or cancelled out any potential progress with the Bowen and have to start over.  Both of them are super expensive to boot (Bowen is the most expensive but once I've spent $750 my insurance will cover 50%).

Also, when I was there yesterday for the Bowen therapy, he was saying that since I didn’t have the really drastic adverse reaction the second time, he’d give me a little heavier treatment and called it his “4th of July fireworks special”.  LOL  Whatever those fireworks were, I was barely able to walk out of there without my legs giving out.  That was the first time during all of this health condition nonsense that I’ve had THAT symptom.  Yes, I’ve had the weak, limp arm and hand, upper body weakness and shakes, but never the leg weakness.  He did tell me to go home right away and avoid driving after that!  Not being able to operate heavy machinery was a non-issue.

As part of this Bowen therapy, the ideal situation is to be able to do a little 20-30 second “dance” every 30 minutes for the first day of therapy to keep the electrodes active and the blood circulating.  Ha!  Not in my condition.  I was lucky to be able to feed myself and get to the couch during the first four or five hours.

SUBWAY BLUNDERS
Though he did say not to drive any more that day, I did stop at Subway on the way home though because I knew I wasn’t going to be able to stand up to even make a sandwich.  When I got to the house, I realized that someone had given me the wrong beverage, the wrong sides and NO cookies!  My sandwich barely had any veggies on it and I even asked for heavy veggies.  My server must have been having a rough day.

After I ate some lunch, I was pretty much stuck in a reclined position on the sofa for the next 4 hours.  Remember, I really don’t like t.v. all that much and it just didn’t remotely even seem like that would have eased my boredom or loneliness.  My arm and hand went as limp as it’s ever been and it’s hard to even just read with only one hand and not being able to hold my head up much.  Thank goodness Kathi Wallace dropped by to visit!  She also brought some fresh fruit from the roadside stand!  I had been feeling pretty down and that really perked up my spirits!  It was over 90 degrees yesterday and there I was lying on a leather sofa with no A.C. with seemingly nothing to do.  She offered to help me do a few things around the house and also got me a snack and a bottle of cold water – It mostly felt so good against my torso and it really seemed to bring down the heat!  Yay Kathi!  And I’m HER visiting teacher!

Just as Kathi was leaving, Diana Lamboy arrived at the door with a fantastic dinner!  It was delicious and she even stayed for a little while to visit!  Jensen didn’t have to work so we all got to enjoy dinner together!  I was able to get up the stairs to bed almost immediately afterwards and enjoyed the A.C. in our bedroom.

ASPHALT
The water main that is a few houses away, ruptured on Sunday and they’ve been working on it ever since with heavy machinery from about 7:00am until late in to the night.  The noise of the equipment is a little disruptive to sleep but all I had to do was to turn up the A.C. to " and that take care of the equipment noise!  I just feel bad for those workers out there in this heat, especially because they’re working on asphalt, but especially now with having to replace the road with that hot, hot new asphalt.

CIGARETTE SMOKE
It was pretty hard to fall asleep last night - I'm pretty sure it was a bi-product of the therapy.  I just couldn't seem to get comfortable and my body was not getting the message that it needed to settle down and relax.  After about 2 hours, though, I finally was able to sleep - ONLY to be awaken at 1:30 in the morning to the smell of cigarette smoke!  Someone was smoking outside and my A.C. was drawing in the outside air, filling my room with the stench.  I turned off the AC unit and was amazed that I was able to fall asleep again after only about 20 minutes.

I’m obviously feeling pretty decent so far today.  I’ve been resting a bit in between getting dressed, watering the flowers and feeding the animals.  I’m going to go lay down again here in a minute.  Hopefully, for the rest of the day, I’ll be able to follow this pattern!
