My domestic skills dusted off

I used to do a fair amount of sewing and crocheting in the past, but it's been a really long time. So when Micah was born, I decided that there should be something that I hand-made to give to him.
I started crocheting a baby blanket for him with this really pretty white yarn that he could pass on to his other siblings when they were all blessed. I only got about 8 inches into it and decided that it looked WAY too feminine to be given to a boy! Then I changed my mind altogether about crocheting and decided I would make a fabric blanket and embroider his name and birthdate on it somehow. With every sibling, I would add their name and birthdate too.
So, here it is! It was a pretty simple project - embroider the name on to the blanket binding, then sew the binding on! Done!
I'm not sure how Micah felt about it though. He was wrapped in it to be blessed, but soon afterwards, pooped on it! I really didn't feel bad about it, though - it can be washed - unlike the borrowed little beautiful antique suit he was wearing that had to be dry cleaned AHHHHH! (Becca did the stains ever come out of that?).

  1. Have you ever considered putting yourself in the "Adopt a grandma" program? Because we would be interested.
